It’s all going off in Maui today! The first race event of the APP World Tour is kicking off right now, watch some of the fastest paddlers in the world go into battle with each other to see who’s been putting in the hard yards over the winter!

Below is all the event info including times of all the events, we’ll be streaming it live all weekend!

The Maui Pro-Am will be the Opening Race event of the 2017 Season for the APP World Tour and feature: World Tour ($45k prize-purse / $150 online entry), Qualifier Series ($5k prize-purse / $100 online entry) and AM Age Group Racing (Awards & Trophies / $60 online entry), as well as Youth Team Racing at Kanaha Beach Park.

The event will consist of two different days of Racing and an Opening Day and here is the schedule:

Friday 10th March:

  • 10am: Press Conference: Location tbd
  • 2pm: Athlete Meeting, Paia: final location tbd
  • 5pm: Registration & Opening Event

Saturday 11th March:

Saturday’s racing will feature the APP World Tour Sprint Racing at Ho’okipa Beach Park, as well as an Expression Session Surf event to kick off the day. The Expression Session Open Surf event will run from 9 – 10am, with the APP World Tour Sprints to kick off and be LIVE broadcast from 11am. Saturday’s Racing will feature World Tour athletes only, but provide a spectacular viewing experience on site and online for the World to tune in. Here is the schedule for Saturday’s events:

  • 8am: Check in for Surf Expression Session
  • 9am: Surf Expression Session
  • 10am: Check in for APP WOrld Tour Springs
  • 11am: Racing Start
  • 7pm: Movie screening at Rock & Brews

Sunday 12th March:

Sunday’s racing will provide something for everyone, from youth and AM Age Group racing, to World Qualifier Series and World Tour competition on the legendary and iconic Maliko Downwind Run. Festivities at Kanaha Beach will add to the experience on Sunday afternoon with Live Music featuring Paula Fuga, Ekolu Kalama and guests, lunch and entertainment. Here is the schedule of events:

  • 9am: Youth Team Racing at Kanaha Beach Park
  • 10am: Paddlers Check in opens at Maliko Bay
  • 12pm: Race Course Safety Briefing at Maliko Bay
  • 1pm: Staggered start for all divisions of racing at Maliko Bay
  • 2pm: Lunch opens
  • 3pm: Awards and Live Music by Paula Fuga, Ekolu Kalama and friends
  • 8pm: After Party at Rock & Brews
